We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the External Wall Insulation (EWI) upgrade at the Community Centre in Portmagee, thanks to the exceptional efforts of the Eco Wrap Home Insulation team. This project was meticulously carried out using the Alsecco NSAI-approved EWI system, supplied by SIG Facade, a leading provider of high-quality building materials and solutions.

The Alsecco EWI System

The Alsecco EWI system is a state-of-the-art insulation solution designed to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings. It consists of a robust insulation layer, reinforced with a glass fibre mesh, and finished with a weather-resistant and decorative render. This system not only improves the thermal performance of the building but also provides a fresh, community appearance.

Benefits of the Alsecco EWI System for the Community Centre

  • Reduced Energy Costs: The excellent thermal insulation properties of the system will significantly reduce heat loss, leading to lower energy consumption and cost savings for the community centre.
  • Enhanced Building Protection: The durable and weather-resistant finish will protect the community centre from harsh Irish weather conditions, ensuring longevity and minimising maintenance requirements.
  • Improved Aesthetic Appeal: With a wide range of colour and texture options, the community centre can now enjoy a customised and visually appealing exterior that enhances the overall appearance of the facility. The chosen colour scheme seamlessly matches the community brand colours, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The new exterior perfectly complements the surrounding environment and local landscape contributing to the area’s aesthetic appeal.
  • Healthier Indoor Environment: The breathable and moisture-resistant nature of the system prevents condensation and mould growth, creating a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment for the centre’s users.
  • Sustainable and Eco-Friendly: The use of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials in the Alsecco EWI System aligns with the community centre’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to a greener future.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

The EWI upgrade at the Portmagee Community Centre has significantly improved the building’s U-Value, ensuring a warmer and more sustainable environment for all its users. This project aligns with our commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency in community facilities, contributing to a greener and more eco-friendly future.
