Returns Policy

1. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Customers)

If you are purchasing as a consumer (i.e. not in the course of business), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (SI No. 639 of 2022), which implements EU Directive 2019/771.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us within 14 calendar days of receiving your goods. You can contact us by:

You then have a further 14 days to return the goods to us. We will issue a full refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of you providing proof of return — whichever is earlier.

2. Conditions for Returns

To be eligible for a return, goods must be:

  • Unused and in their original, undamaged condition
  • In their original packaging, including any protective wrapping or labels
  • Complete (all components, accessories, and documentation included)

We reserve the right to make a deduction from the refund for any reduction in value caused by handling the goods beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.

3. Exclusions — Goods That Cannot Be Returned

The following items cannot be returned unless they are faulty:

  • Products that have been cut to size, custom-ordered, or specially fabricated to your specification
  • Products that have been used, installed, or applied
  • Perishable or chemically sensitive products (e.g. sealants, adhesives, curing agents) where the packaging seal has been broken
  • Products that form part of a trade account order placed under negotiated commercial terms

This list does not limit your statutory rights in the case of faulty or misdescribed goods.

4. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Goods

If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery at enquiries@sig.ie with your order number and a description (and where possible, photographs) of the issue.

We will arrange for collection at our cost and offer you, at your election:

  • A repair or replacement (where available)
  • A full refund to your original payment method

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 are not affected.

5. Trade & Business Customers

For orders placed for business or trade purposes, returns are subject to our trade terms and conditions. A restocking charge of 15% may apply to non-faulty returns. All returns must be pre-authorised — please contact your account manager or enquiries@sig.ie before returning any goods.

6. How to Return Goods

Please do not return goods without first contacting us at enquiries@sig.ie or +353 1 645 4944 to obtain written authorisation. Goods returned without prior written consent from SIG may not be accepted or processed.

Once your return is authorised, we will confirm the correct return address for your order — this will typically be the SIG branch from which your goods were originally dispatched.

Please do not send returns to head office unless specifically instructed to do so.

Return shipping costs are at the customer's expense for change-of-mind returns, unless otherwise agreed. We recommend using a tracked delivery service.

7. Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving and inspecting the returned goods. We will notify you by email when your refund has been processed.

We cannot refund original delivery charges on change-of-mind returns unless the entire order is returned and you are a consumer exercising your statutory cancellation right.
